- Manage technical writers at the Shanghai development site to deliver product documentation to customers for worldwide development projects.
- Manage a publications team effectively, retaining and supporting key contributors in TechPubs
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; demonstrated leadership, initiative, and vision as well as ability to work as part of a team
- Build and maintain relationships with key contacts in IC Design, software and systems Engineering, Operations, Marketing, Finance, and Customer Support across several geographic locations
- Capable of planning, prioritizing, and managing workloads to meet deadlines
- As a working manager, must technical competency and experience using publication tools (FrameMaker, Word, Excel, Acrobat, graphics), plus proficiency in database and reporting tools; be a strong advocate for processes and tools to deliver documentation in the most time-sensitive and cost-effective manner. Familiarity with HTML, XML, Linux, and structured FrameMaker a plus.
Must be fluent in English (both written and verbal).
Minimum of 5 years experience managing a technical writing or a publications group using industry-standard publishing processes and tools.
Bachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, Communications, Journalism, or English. Excellent listening, written, and oral communication skills. Experience managing translation projects a plus.
Additional desired skills and experience:
Industry-related experience (semiconductors or electronics). Training to transition the TechPubs function from the U.S. to Asia will be provided.
