Our TV520/80 and TV520/82 TV systems are complete and easy-to-use reference designs that deliver outstanding flexibility. Based on the highly integrated PNX8536 and
PNX505x System-on-Chip ICs, they are ideal for the North American ATSC/NTSC market (TV520/80) and the European and Australian DVB-T markets (TV520/82).

Both reference designs contain all hardware and software you need to build a hybrid TV. The hardware is designed to work perfectly with optimized platform software, while re-using field-proven, middleware components.

And since we’ve integrated much of the TV810’s functionality into a single IC, we’ve significantly reduced the IC chip count, PCB size and total bill of materials.

Rather than simply repeating frames, the TV520/8x solutions use motion estimation and motion compensation to cancel the annoying movie judder effects. In other words, they actually create new frames – i.e. pictures that were never taken – between the existing ones.
